Addison is Here!

I am so late at posting this, what a slacker... I went to the dr on March 17th for a weekly checkup. I had a little over 2 weeks to go until Addi's due date. The doctor took my blood pressure, and it was sky high. She made me take a test, and bring it back in the morning to get my blood drawn. I went back to the hospital that next morning before work, got blood drawn and another blood pressure test, which was still really high. My Doctor was out of the office for the rest of the week, so another doctor took a look at me and admitted to Labor and Delivery. I was told then that I had preclampsia, which could be fatal if it was not addressed immediately.

Kevin came rushing to the hospital, and waited all day with me until the doctor finally came to give me thoughts on what we were going to do. Doc came and said they would induce me that next morning. The next morning I was induced, water broke shortly after that, and Addison Kaylin Shelton was born at 7:13PM, March 19, 2009 weighing 5 lbs 8 oz and 18 3/4 inches long.

I have to say that giving birth was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever encountered. It was not at all like I expected, and to tell you the truth, I had to have one of the easiest pregnancies anyone could have. As for being in labor, I pushed twice and Addison was into this world! I couldn't have done it without having an epidural, which was the best thing EVER!

So here she is, after a long story... My baby girl is so incredible and I can't believe I love someone as much as I love her!

All I can say is that you have a beautiful little girl. Congrats to you. Also, thats kind of scary about you having preeclampsia. That can be a bad thing. I'm glad everything went well for you.
